HOW TO REACH NUMOS, GENT, BELGIUM

By plane:

The nearest airport is Brussels Airport (=Zaventem Airport) at 60 km from Gent.
By far the easiest and cheapest way from the Airport to Gent is by train.
The train station is located in the basement (level -1) of the airport terminal building itself.
A direct ride with the Intercity Train (IC) takes less than an hour.
IR trains can take longer (1 hour 20 min) or require you to change at Brussels South (Dutch: Brussel Zuid; French: Bruxelles Midi).

Remark: other airports in Belgium are "Airport Ostende" and "Brussels South Charleroi Airport" (located 50 km from Brussels!). Please be aware that it is more difficult to reach Gent from these airports!

To the conference site from the train station:

At the train station 'Gent St Pieters' you can:
1. Walk to the conference site (2.3 km, 30 minutes).
2. Take the tram:
* From the train platform, stairs are directly leading to the tram station. If you leave the station by the main entrance: turn left and walk to the tram tunnel.
* Take tram 1 to the city center. Tickets (€ 1.20) can be bought at the vending machines at the tram stop.
* Get off at the "Korenmarkt".
* Walk via the "Sint-Michielshelling" and "Sint-Michielsplein" to "Onderbergen 1".
3. Take a taxi. Taxi's are parked just to the right when you leave the train station by the main entrance. A ride costs about € 7.
