Microprocessors can often benefit from hints supplied by the compiler. For this we propose to store information in the name of registers operated on by an instruction. This requires special support in the register allocator of the compiler. In this report we present a tool for reallocating and reassigning registers at link-time, based on Diablo, that allows to insert these hints.
