Michiel Ronsse was born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1970. In 1994 he graduated as an electrotechnical engineer at the University of Ghent, in the department of Electronics and Information Systems. Since september 1994 he is working in the Parallel Information Systems group. He is concentrating on the use of replay-techniques to make cyclic debugging for non-deterministic parallel programs possible.
He was sponsored by the IWT between 1994 and 1998 and was paid by the research project Formally Validated Thread Generation for Multithreaded Operating Systems in 1999. In 1999 he obtained his PhD in Computer Science ("Racedetection in Parallel Programs using Controled Re-execution"). Starting from 2000, he is paid by the SEESCOA -project for which he works on debugging techniques for embedded systems.
